We are already looking for our next signing so if you think we should be looking at you, post your tracks under this article. This will be the first place we look...
Anyway, this is how it happened for Paper Heroes: a few months ago, 19 year old Matt Weedon posted his track on the site for the competition to play at SkinsLive Cardiff. When Alex heard Jenny Jones he liked it so much that he put the track in episode nine. After that they played the Cardiff party (obviously..) and wowed an audience at the early time of 9 in the evening. Even proper bands signed to huge labels with a large marketing budget behind them rarely got a reaction like they did. When a slot opened up for the London leg of the tour, we snapped up the opportunity for the band to play again.
Knowing we were onto something big at a very early stage, the next step was to set up a Skins Life label. So from Wednesday you’ll be able to pre-order the brilliant Jenny Jones on 7” and MP3 download.
Paper Heroes already have enough material for a solid album and we reckon they will be snapped up by a much larger label in the near future, which is why we want to find our next signing now...
Be sure to pick up the limited edition single to be part of both Skins and Paper Heroes history.
Alex has done quite well in picking bands 6 months before they break. He kind of has to because music starts being put in place before we begin shooting...
If you reckon you could give him a run for his money, make your suggestions of what should be in the next series?
UPDATE: By the way we think your selections so far are brilliant. Alex is going to respond to you all when he's back from his holiday. He's been at a festival. He claims it's work. I'm not convinced...
UPDATE II: Alex has, as promised, come up with a response to your suggestions. He's also had a look at the music you've posted on the site too...
Jack, who makes these vids for us, concentrates on the auditions for this video... Enjoy and post nice comments about Chris!
Surely everyone's favourite upcoming indie rock act The Paper Heroes are launching their single, Jenny Jones, with our friends The Barfly...
This gig is different from the Live Tour in the way that they are all about the Music, so no auditions at these, I'm afraid; just proper music from Paper Heroes, other local bands plus, of course, the winners of the SkinsLife label competition. So, it's all happening at: Thursday 29th May; London Barfly 14+

And so to Glasgow - where, we are happy to report, we had the friendliest crowd yet. Special thanks to the nice people from the Am Dram Club who took me for macaroni cheese and chips. I hope their performance of Mikado went well - if you're reading this, let us know.
The illustrious Gavin Kaps was behind the camera for this gig and here's his film...
Skins and Music have a very close relationship and we've got a pretty good track record when it comes to picking new music and bringing unsigned bands to a wider audience.
However, we think we can do a bit more and this is what we've got planned...

We have set up a record label called SkinsLife Records - a new music label from the makers of Skins.
Basically it's another way we can give a boost to bands we think deserve recognition for what they do. We will provide a decent musical home for bands we love and give them a springboard towards a big record deal.
Sound good? We certainly think so. It will be a download only label with some special limited edition Vinyl runs on selected tracks. It will be affordable, independent and will cover every genre of Music imaginable.
Let us know what you think and get ready for the arrival of SkinsLife Records - there will be lots more coming soon including chances to play at showcase gigs, soundtrack and play in Skins Series 3 episodes and, of course, release your music to a wider audience...
We've got some tickets to give away to see our good friends Born Ruffians in London this thursday. They are the band that appear in episode 9 in the New York club scene...
For all of you that live in London and are still coming down from the mayhem that was the Skins Live party at the Bloomsbury Ballroom it must be pretty annoying that everyone up in Newcastle will be having just as much fun(if not, more) on thursday night.
But fret not; our good friends Warp Records have given us two pairs of tickets to see Born Ruffians play at the Amersham Arms in New Cross.
Just answer this easy question (it's even easier if you use Wikipedia)
What was the first single to be released by Warp?
If you could clog up skinsmusic@skinslife.com with your answers by thursday morning at 10am we'll randomly pick two lucky winners who will have their names on the door.
SkinsLife favourite Jack Clough couldn't make it to Liverpool but don't you worry - Gavin Kaps, who is at Salford film school, manfully stepped up to produce this bit of video wizardry. Enjoy...
Jack Clough, our resident camerman/director/genius has put this together for us. Enjoy and let us know what you think!
